Pentland Lodge is open Monday to Friday and allows patients,
who are well, to stay in the hospital whilst receiving their radiotherapy but without
having to stay on a ward. This gives some independence and removes the need to travel each day to the Edinburgh Cancer Centre for those who live in the Borders or Dumfries and Galloway.
Pentland Lodge is
located within the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, and can be accessed from the main entrance to the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. Patients are referred to
Pentland Lodge by their Consultant.

On your first day you will need to ring the buzzer.

On arrival at Pentland Lodge you will be met by the Housekeeper and the
Manager. You are allocated your bedroom for your stay and given your key and a swipe
card to get into the Lodge so that you
can come and go as you please.
Pentland Lodge has 14 single rooms, 5 shower rooms and 6
toilets. Each bedroom has a TV, phone and wash hand basin.

The phone in the bedroom takes incoming calls. To phone out, you will need to
buy a phone card (minimum £10) but must use a debit / credit card to activate the card. The Housekeeper will arrange this for you. Each
phone has an individual number which you will be told when allocated your
room.

The kitchen area is available to allow you to cater for yourself, if you want
to. Tea and coffee are available at all times.

The Pentland Lodge domestic sets the table for lunch. All meals are taken in the dining area.

The lounge is a place to relax and meet with the others staying at Pentland Lodge. It has comfortable sofas, a TV, DVD player, music centre and small
library.
Relatives and visitors are most welcome. However, they cannot
stay overnight.
