SCAN Scotland – Regional Cancer Network

The South East Scotland Cancer Network (SCAN) is one of three Regional Cancer Networks operating in NHS Scotland.

Cancer Networks underpin the delivery of the Scottish Government’s Cancer Strategy for Scotland 2023-2033 (July 2023) along with the Cancer Plan for Scotland 2023-2026 (July 2023), supporting the comprehensive approach to improving patient pathways from prevention and diagnosis through to treatment and post-treatment care.

SCAN brings together cancer professionals from four NHS Boards:

Regional Groups

Information on SCAN regional groups including our governance groups responsible for overseeing and implementing the SCAN Work Plan and regional initiatives.

Tumour Specific Groups

SCAN has Tumour Specific Groups covering nine types of cancer. The tumour-specific groups are multidisciplinary and bring together a wide range of health professionals and patient representatives from across the SCAN area.

Clinical Management

This section contains information regarding the various Clinical Management Guidelines and clinical protocols managed by the Edinburgh Cancer Centre.

Audit Information

The audit section contains information on the data collected by the SCAN audit team along with various annual regional and national audit reports broken down per tumour site.
